Just another WordPress.com weblog

All it takes is a little humility.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:12-17

We were always encouraged in my Sunday school class to memorize verses so that later on we’d be able to recall them in times of need. I was never good at it and even as an adult the most I can ever recall are bits and pieces that I can enter into Google.com and search the entire verse for.

Despite the drawback, I still believe that God puts these little bits into my head when certain things occur in my life. Kind of like forcing me to search for His answers and not trick myself into believing my own flawed reasoning.

I can’t expand on this much more, at least not until the dust settles a bit. All I can say is that we are all at fault, and therefore obligated to not only forgive, but be forgiven.
